Elementary, Secondary, and Special Education - At a Distance Learning

91ÇÑ×Ó provides all program required courses and associated enrichment activities at a distance via online, video technology formats, and on-the-job experiential learning. These programs lead to a bachelor’s degree in Education for Elementary, Secondary or Special Education programs.

Secondary Education options available

91ÇÑ×Ó provides the following field endorsements online.

  • Business – grades 6-12
  • English Language Arts 7-12
  • Family and Consumer Science – grades 6-12
  • Mathematics – grades 6-12
  • Special Education – grades K-12

Special Requirements

  • Video technology formats are courses with scheduled times and attendance is required.
  • Your bachelor’s degree may be Nebraska certified, so if you plan to teach in another state, there may be additional requirements you will need to complete. Contact the Department of Education in the state you are wishing to teach to learn if there are any additional requirements. In most states, a “provisional” or “temporary” certificate will be issued with a timeframe for completing any additional requirements. In the meantime, the provisional certificate will allow you to accept a teaching position and be a teacher of record in classroom until all the requirements have been met.

91ÇÑ×Ó provides all courses for the various FCS degrees and options online: The courses are offered either as face-to-face or online or online only. The courses are also offered on a rotational basis to earn your Family and Consumer Sciences' bachelor’s degree within four years.

Special Requirements

  • Face-to-face attendance is required in one two-week field camp, offered each May.
